Scholastic Areas

The academic year is divided into two terms and examination are conducted at the end of each term.

  • Half Yearly Examination Sept-Oct.
  • Final Examination Feb-March.
  • Weekly tests are held in all subjects in the form of Monday Test to keep a check on the studies. Weekly test papers are returned to students within ten days of the test. Parents are requested to sign the test reports and maintain effective communication with the school through the almanac.
  • The syllabus in all subjects is divided into two terms. Details are given in the complied assignments.
  • Evaluation will be based on student’s continuous academic performance during the year. Weightage for Unit tests, half yearly and final examination is given below.

  • The syllabus for final exams for classes VI-IX & XI will include a certain percentage of the syllabus of the first term. Class wise breakup is given below.
Class VI Full syllabus of Term II + 10% of Term I
Class VII Full syllabus of Term II + 20% of Term I
Class VIII Full syllabus of Term II + 30% of Term I

Class IX

Full syllabus of Term II + 40% of Term I

Class XI

Full syllabus of Term II + 40% of Term I
  • The division of marks is as follows:
    • Unit Test in each term will comprise of 20 marks. Average of each Unit Test conducted under each term will be for 10 marks.
    • Note book submission will comprise of 5 marks in each terms.
    • Subject Enrichment Assessment will comprise of 5 marks in each terms.
    • Written Exam for 80 marks will be conducted at the end of each term.
  • Notebook Submission (5 marks) :
    • Notebook submission as a part of assessment is aimed at enhancing seriousness of students towards preparing notes for the topics being taught in the classroom as well as assignments. This also addresses the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.
  • Subject Enrichment Assessment (5 marks) :
    • These are subject specific application activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development. These activities are recorded by respective subject teachers.
  • Scheme of Examination for Board Classes (X & XII) is followed as guided by CBSE.
  • The examination for classes X and XII would be conducted as per the structure explained below by CBSE:-
    • here will be an Annual Board Examination based on the entire syllabus.
    • The Annual Examination will be of 80 marks and 20 marks weightage shall be for Internal Assessment/Practical.
    • Internal Assessment for Class X:
      1. a. There will be Periodic Assessment that would include for 5 marks- Three periodic tests conducted by the school. Average of the best two tests to be taken that will have a weightage of 05 marks towards the final result. • For 5 marks- Diverse methods of assessment as per the need of the class dynamics and curriculum transaction. These may include - short tests, oral test, quiz, concept maps, projects, posters, presentations and enquiry based scientific investigations etc. and use rubrics for arguing them objectively. This will also have a weightage of 05 marks towards the final result.
      2. b. Practical / Laboratory work should be done throughout the year and the student should maintain record of the same. Practical Assessment should be continuous. There will be weightage of 5 marks towards the final result. All practicals listed in the syllabus must be completed.
      3. c. Portfolio- A portfolio is prepared by the student- This would include classwork and other sample of student work and will carry a weightage of 5 marks towards the final results.
  • Practicals for Class XII
    • A practical examination is conducted for 30/20 marks as per the guidelines of CBSE. An External Examiner is send by CBSE for conduction of practical who checks the proper conduction of practical and award marks to students on their performance basis which are being added in Annual Examination.
  • The Grading in Scholastic area will be done on a 5 point scale.

Co-Scholastic Activities:

The following activities will be graded on a 3-point grading scale (A to C) and will have no descriptive indicators. No up scaling of grades will be done.

  • Work Education on Pre-Vocational:
    Work education is a distinct curricular area for students for participation in social, economic and welfare activities.
  • Health and Physical Education:
    Consists of Health and Physical Activities Sports, Gymnastics, Yoga, First Aid, Swimming, Scouting and Guiding, Gardening, Horse Riding etc.
  • Art Education:
    Consists of Visual and Performing Arts. It is an important area of curricular activity for development of wholesome personality of the student. Students will be assessed for drawing, painting, art and craft etc. or performing arts for dance, drama, music etc.

Discipline

Discipline significantly impacts career shaping and it helps build character. Sincerity, good behaviour and values develop strength and foster unity and co-operation. Therefore, the element of discipline has been introduced. Class teacher will be grading the students on a Three-point scale (A to C). The students are graded on the basis of following parameters:

  • Regularity
  • Behaviour & Mannerism
  • Respect, Rules & Regulation
  • Attitude towards School System
  • Attitude towards Teachers
  • Attitude towards Schoolmates
