On July 31, 2025, Stone Ridge International School celebrated the birth anniversary of the renowned Indian author Munshi Premchand with a vibrant and meaningful event.
To honor his literary contributions, students from the school’s four houses—Centaur, Unicorn, Griffin & Phoenix participated in a skit competition, each presenting a dramatized adaptation of one of Premchand’s iconic stories. The event was designed not only to pay tribute to Premchand’s timeless narratives but also to instill valuable life lessons in the students through the themes of his stories.
The event was held in the school’s stage, decorated with posters of Munshi Premchand and quotes from his works, creating an immersive atmosphere. Each house’s performance was meticulously rehearsed, with students showcasing their acting skills, creativity in set design, and attention to the cultural nuances of Premchand’s stories. Teachers and house mentors guided the students in understanding the deeper meanings behind each story, ensuring the performances were both entertaining and educational.
The school’s Principal delivered an inspiring speech, commending the students for their dedication and talent. He highlighted how Premchand’s stories remain relevant in teaching moral values, social awareness, and empathy, urging the students to apply these lessons in their daily lives.
