International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor at Stone Ridge International School in Rudrapur. The event took place within the school campus on the 21st of June, bringing together students & the teachers. The aim of the event was to promote the practice of yoga and create awareness about its numerous benefits for physical and mental well-being.
The day began with a warm welcome to all participants. The school ground was adorned with colorful mats and props, creating a vibrant and serene atmosphere. The yoga session commenced with a series of gentle warm-up exercises, followed by various asanas or yoga postures. Experienced yoga instructors guided the participants through each asana, explaining their benefits and correct alignment.
Students actively participated in the yoga session, displaying their flexibility, strength, and concentration. From the classic Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) to the challenging Padmasana (Lotus Pose), a wide range of asanas were performed. The instructors emphasized the importance of regular practice and highlighted how each asana can improve physical fitness, increase flexibility, and reduce stress levels. The students were encouraged to adopt yoga as part of their daily routine for a healthier and balanced lifestyle.
In addition to the physical aspect, the significance of pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation was also emphasized during the event. The participants learned various breathing techniques, such as Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing) and Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath), which help in calming the mind and enhancing concentration. Meditation exercises were introduced to instill a sense of inner peace and tranquility. The students were enlightened about the positive impact of yoga on mental well-being, including stress reduction, improved focus, and emotional stability.
