Harela Festival Celebrated at Stone Ridge International School
The Harela festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy at Stone Ridge International School. The festival commenced with a harvesting ceremony of the plants ,which had been nurtured for a period of 10 days, symbolizing the growth and prosperity associated with Harela.
A speech delivered on Harela was delivered by Mr. Deepak Bisht focusing on its significance, traditions, and cultural importance. The speech was delivered in the Kumaoni language, adding a local touch and promoting the preservation of regional languages.
The melodious Kumauni song Ji Raya Jagi Raya was sung by Music Teachers accompanied by other teachers and students added more meaning to the celebration of Harela.
Students and teachers participated in a vibrant dance performance, showcasing the spirit of Harela. The dance was accompanied by a song specifically dedicated to Harela, enhancing the festive atmosphere. Additionally, a Harela Pujan (worship) was conducted to honor the festival's agricultural roots.
To conclude the festival, plantation was done in school premises. The celebration of the Harela festival at Stone Ridge International School was a vibrant and culturally enriching event.
