Description:
The Student Council Election at Stone Ridge International School was held for candidates from senior section of the school. Several students filled the nomination forms, but only 8 candidates were selected by the Election Committee, with 2 candidates chosen for each of the 4 positions - Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, and Deputy Head Girl. Each candidate was assigned an election symbol, such as a trophy, medal, pen, book, or green board.
The election process began with a two-day campaign where candidates canvassed and presented their ideas to the student body. Finally, on the voting day, all students from classes 6 to 12, along with the teachers, cast their votes. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Honourable MD Sir and the Principal Sir, who cast the first votes to kickstart the election.
To facilitate voting, two polling booths were set up, each with polling officers. Students had their fingers marked to prevent duplicate voting, and they cast their votes on a ballot paper following the established election procedure.
The election process at Stone Ridge International School encouraged student participation, engagement, and democratic values. The candidates' campaigns, election symbols, and voting by the entire school community fostered a sense of responsibility and involvement in electing capable student representatives for the Student Council.
